It’s been all go this week, as I have spent the week readjusting to the pattern of sewing around the day job, but I am happy to say the rhythm is back! The week ended on a high too, as this Friday was our tenth ‘Crafty Catch Up’ and it was a good one.
Fiona of Minifi, is really getting into her stride as a patient and supportive instructor and Two Little Magpies is the perfect space for running crafty courses. As always, Lucy welcomed us into her creative hub and provided a relaxed setting where people can learn.
This month we were trying our hand at mono printing, a delightfully messy pastime, which everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy! As usual Lucy gave us access to her wealth of books for image ideas and general inspiration. Although always on hand for advice and help with their ideas, Fiona and Lucy always encourage participants to ‘have a go’ and it’s this that makes the evenings such a success. This one was no exception, the results speak for themselves.
The fact that our group have been working together for over a year now might have something to do with the warmth and encouragement that flows freely, and allows any newcomers to immediately feel at ease. It gives me a buzz to hear the easy conversation and praise for each other’s creations, so I know that I will continue to want to be involved in organising these crafty get togethers for a while yet. I also have plans about where I would like to take the idea, hatched over three years ago.
In the meantime, enjoy these pics and catch up soon. Great aren’t they!?
